More than 99% of people fail because of losing their focus on a thing to do. There is a business, there are many things to do. Then people might think that to do as much as possible to gain more profits. However, they forgot that when there are many to do in a time is also impossible to complete. It is better to focus on a thing to complete and then jump to take another thing to do rather than gather many things to do at the same time. So you have to focus here and now.
Always stay calm and keep a minute to think before action is good way to focus. When you do something at somewhere in sometime so that you should focus on that place and that do not lose concentration. Even there is something happen beside your current task to complete as your plan. That happening may cause you losing your concentration, or make your task fail at that time you lose focus here and now.
Therefore, every time I faced on this kind of problem I always keep myself calm and think a minute about what happen and what I should do to take action with that without losing focus on current task I keep involving in. For example, I had an experience when I was writing a final report of research and plan to submit it to customer in the period of a day. Within a day, there were many things and questions from my colleague, subordinate, and superior about another in charge or related tasks. In that situation, it made me wonder of myself that the report could be finished as the set deadline within the day as requested or not.
However, there was a solution for me. Sometime, if I just focus much on only a thing now to complete but there are many things urgent and important to do it later also. So I have to try another way to keep both keep focus and keep continue to another things. At that time, I chose to prepare some pieces of papers for easy noting and to make a quick memo. Then I tried to focus on to complete my final report. When someone had questions I wrote down onto my piece of paper and posted it on my desk noted as to answer it later to the person who was asking me. Next, another thing or task had me to decide and response so that I took it as a memo down on to another piece of paper and noted it as task to check later as soon as possible after I finished. So thing or task that was not so serious or can resolute next I kept it to another day.
To do that, I can still focus here and now, then I can manage another thing or task for the next agenda of completion. So that is so simple one by one, and I am clear arrange what to do now and later. Actually, in this case a model of urgent and important decision making can help me to plan the schedule easier and faster. In short, focus here and now is a way lead us to complete the task successfully and help business growth in a teamwork context.
