Try to Do as a Sales Consultant

The sales task was my first job since I have worked at this company 5 years ago as in the Sales & Marketing department. Then be promoted as a position of sub-manager in Sales & Marketing. I mainly in charge of marketing business tasks, with knowledge in IT, and the ability of multi-language for communication. Over these years, even now or before I still keep trying hard work, more or less I used to work as a market researcher, salesperson, event organizer, graphic design, interpreter/translator, and business consultant. Recently, I am assigning to lead a sales activity again as a project in planning and project management. Mainly in charge of planning sales strategy to the local market, and leading the sales team to promote and sell the company services into the market.

It seems like a simple plan to set it up and execute. Actually, there would be a huge of struggle to cope. The whole market in local will be the targeting segment of this project. Then the matter is how to break it down into sections and prioritize the action to do. So, the strategy is a simple way to identify and separate the segment by doing the primary study and research the market. Next, there are some lists of the target clients assume to prospect customers. Criteria for filter/pick up prospected customers as prior approach as the scale of the business, business service and type, and especially the Needs of that kind of business in the Market. After that, the sales team can follow the priority target segment to execute their action to contact and sell into the local market as planning. In addition, other advertisements and promotions can be applied as a supplement to accelerating sale activity. For instance, the email marketing system and social media promotion will be the best choice to focus on. That is a way of infusion to reach the right target effectively.

To lead and support the sales team succeed their works smoothly, a management procedure, sales tools, and technique are important to sales consultants to succeed in their close deal. There are some sheets I have with the spreadsheet system such as customers’ database, sales in charge activity, and the approach along with result status. Some tools such as company profile pamphlet, services flyer, and other presentation documents I develop and prepare for the team to attract customer’s hearts. Then consultants’ capacity building and strength also the important point to keep in their mind when facing and communicating with customers. That’s why there are some skills include soft skills, SOLD style, and SPIN Selling technique are required to develop thorough the team. Finally, that is all about my trying to do as a sales consultant, and it is an important lesson for me to improve and develop my career for future growth. In fact, this article is just some brief and overview concept I try to experience more, and the actual activities are folded for now. Anyway, I hope that what I have shared can be in interest to all people who come visiting and reading my blog. What I can try, everyone also can try.
