Try to Do as Marketing Researcher
Since 2013, it has been 3 years of my experiences involving in a lot of local market research to support Japanese companies to advance their business into Cambodia economies and markets. Those industrials included factory, company, agency, agri-products, university, restaurants, wastes recycle, recycle products, etc. There are some collaborative colleagues as my team to do such hard works. They try very hard to cope with the difficulties. I am very thankful to them despite some stay within short and left, and some not. However, I have learned more experiences from those are research methodological approaches and none methodological approach for consumer and local business markets.
First, none methodological approach it is a kind of market and/or business matching research and information gathering only. By searching to collect all related information of the business that plans to advance into the local market. Those kinds of information are regarding local suppliers, and local business information that useful for the investment to make their decision. Those companies’ information is mostly retrieving publicly from the internet and contacts directly to the companies for further discussed information. Then select the targeted segment to submit to customers for reviewing and introducing to match meeting together. It goes through the flow of hearing for requirement, plans a schedule of data collection, making a long list of local business or suppliers, and then review to finalize the submission shortlist. Finally, there is enough information and idea to discuss and guide customers’ business goes in the right direction.
Next, the research methodological approach is mater about a set of processes statistical procedure. Generally, it is involving some tasks include developing a questionnaire, creating question set store databases, interviewing for data collection, input and cleaning data, data analysis, and final report writing. With those activities, it has been for times to conduct with consumers marketing research, business feasibility on the market, and labor wage market. For example, the consumer market regard agriculture product needs and supplies in the current market shared. Then the labor wage market research related to salary survey with a rank of position from staff level to management and included other allowance and benefits. In addition, acquiring feasibility information of the real estate market on residential development and housing loan to meet the middle and low-income households was conducted in Phnom Penh recently.
Actually, there a brief summary of the activity I have involved with marketing research in recent years. It would be a very long explanation if fully describe my experiences regarding this, but I just raise it in short and very simple points to share for learning and exchanging ideas within my blog.
