8 Common Marketing Mistakes Startups Make.

(Read in 2 minutes)

Many entrepreneurs believe their products are so good that they can speak for themselves. But before the product is finished, we need to think about brand marketing. This allows you to build brand awareness before your product is released at scale.

Narges Bufaden, founder and CEO of Keatext, an AI-based customer feedback interpretation platform, said of the situation, “Many entrepreneurs feel that companies rely on products to make a difference. It’s hard to get attention for a product if it’s not marketed well.” And, he also outlines eight common marketing mistakes startups make.

The first was a failure to focus on marketing early on. Many entrepreneurs feel that they rely on their product to make a difference, but it can be difficult to get noticed if the marketing is not done well. Effective marketing means building a marketing team and developing your own brand story and strategy as early as possible.

The second is selling a product without having a product story. Every successful company has its own story and a great product that achieves its goals. Whether you are a business or a consumer, everyone is drawn to good products. That’s why it’s important to have a product story and tell it.

Third, they don’t understand their customers. Understanding customer needs is critical during product development. Being able to listen to your customers and develop products that respond to them will give you an edge over your competitors.

Fourth is the lack of a marketing strategy. When developing a marketing strategy, you need to research your competitors and understand your own strengths and weaknesses. In addition, it is necessary to clarify the target layer and take an approach aimed at that layer.

Fifth, lack of marketing budget. You need a budget to do effective marketing. Marketing without a budget is difficult. When allocating budgets, ROI (return on investment) should be considered and effective marketing efforts should be made.

Sixth is the lack of a marketing team. Building a marketing team is important, but if that team lacks experienced people, you’ll need to hire people from outside.

Seventh, they do not understand the importance of digital marketing. Digital marketing is very important nowadays. It is necessary to conduct effective marketing activities by utilizing digital marketing methods such as SNS and search engine advertising.

Eighth is the lack of measurement of marketing activities. When conducting marketing activities, it is important to measure the results. By measuring results and identifying areas for improvement, you can conduct more effective marketing activities.

As mentioned above, I introduced 8 marketing mistakes that entrepreneurs tend to make. Entrepreneurs can be aware of these mistakes and have effective marketing efforts to increase their brand awareness and gain an edge over their competitors.
