Simple Ways to Cope with Procrastination
Introduction
Procrastination less and more productive on work or life is what everyone wants. However, it can say easy to do. Still, there are few people can do it. While most people are trying themselves more procrastination in their own daily life, it should be a way to control and make ourselves more ostentation rather than procrastination. In this article, there are a few ways to coping with that I will show and it will make you feel very easy to do. In fact, most people cannot struggle with it. Even I myself also fall down into that procrastination way of daily activities. There are four simple tactics to cope with such as this very less active procrastination as follows.
5 Minutes’ Countdown Tactic
The first simple way to cope with procrastination is 5 Minutes’ Countdown Tactic. It is important to aware yourself that why do you delay or do not want to do a thing at its time. You always give yourself a reason or excuse not to do so. That is a point, even how hard you try but it still procrastinates. Rationally, the 5 minutes countdown can help to fix your psychological mater on the point of yourself to excuse.
By setting up the time to countdown 5 minutes alarm before starting the work or task you want to do at first. Don’t care about how large or the scale of your job. There are some rules you need to follow to take this treatment of your procrastinating mind.
Start to do it immediately without any thinking. Because of thinking too much, it causes you to feel bore or not comfortable doing it that why you delay or stop doing that at the time. In contrast, when you just take that immediate action to do, everything you keep in mind just about to complete the work as if you feel to achieve the goal and make yourself a success with the well-done work. Then the 5 minutes’ countdown will push you, encourage you, and it is also a good motivation to help you accomplish the job just within the short minutes of duration.
However, sometime you may feel yourself that the time limitation is impossible to complete the whole job in those 5 minutes. That is the reason why the next rule is to choose the thing that you feel achievable the most to take action. Actually, the 5 minutes’ time is nothing to change your procrastination, but it is a good start point to adopt your good habit. When you can complete some small tasks in the 5 minutes so that it is encouraging you to continue to do more and can complete more in another 5 or 10 minutes or an hour or it can catch your intention to do in a long time. By the way, please you have to remember that is just the beginning of change, you need to try harder to effort yourself to be more procrastinate less.
15 Minutes Contrast Mind Tactic
The second simple way to cope with procrastination is 15 Minutes Contrast Mind Tactic. That’s also a kind of psychology to struggle with the human mind and it is the best treatment for procrastination. It is simple, you just send out your time in 15 minutes without doing anything and sit down at a place wait until the 15 minutes’ time up. Even you want to drink water, listen to music, watch TV, pick up the phone, chatting with someone, or every action, please don’t do in that 15 minutes unless you fail to cope with procrastination.
In this way, it is important and effective due to that reason doing nothing within 15 minutes to contrast your mind. Then you will start to feel regret not to do it from the beginning and ask yourself why you do waste your time like. Before 15 minutes will finish, I will found out yourself what you want to do but do not care about keep yourself do anything until the 15 minutes terminate time alarm then bring up your pen and paper to memorize what you thought and found out during the past 15 minutes. It is a way to push yourself up by doing nothing to contrast your mind from regret and passion but you can just do nothing by waiting until the time up. So after that, you can spread out your commitment and passion to do the things you want and really like to do that from the lesson of your paste 15 minutes regret that you cannot do.
Self-awarded Tactic
Next, Self-awarded Tactic will a good motivation to yourself which can push you to do every time you can think about what you will get from that. However, before you can adapt to that motivation to become a nature of your routine mind, and you have to be calm down with that struggle to yourself. First, find some tasks that can be counted in number, level, or completely finished. Then set that that number or level as your mission target. After setting the target, you must try hard to complete and achieve your tasks to follow the target.
For example, finishing reading a book within a month. Every week of the month and every day of the week have many chapters and pages you have to finish reading as your target. Then for each stage of completion what is your reward to yourself by succeeding in the reading. But you should remember that you do not give yourself too much pressure with many tasks to do at the beginning, and the award also should be in balance as your finance budget unless you may facing your personal financial crisis or you still cannot cope with that procrastination.
Mission Challenging Tactic
Finally, the last Tactic that I would like to share is about, Mission Challenging Tactic. It is easy to compete with others, but it may be much difficult to challenge yourself. However, it is fine even you find another person or yourself to challenge the tasks. When you try hard to do the things and have the competitors to challenge with, you will grow and learn much more from the competition to improve you well.
There are three things you should follow. First, choose a task or mission that you can or to complete. Then find out a person you do the task or mission the same to you, or if not you also can choose yourself. For example, you can find your classmate, peer, or colleague who most of his or her time or task is very close or similar to your to challenge. If you really cannot find him or her, it is better to choose yourself.
You can complete with yourself, for instance, every early morning you get up and then running for 2 km. So you can challenge to increase the distance of running. Or, you can finish reading 50 pages a week then you commit yourself to a challenge by finish reading 100 pages per week. Or, writing an essay, usually you can finish an essay article writing with 2 thousand words within two hours, so next, you can just spend an hour or an hour to finish it.
The last thing for this Mission Challenge Tactic you should remember is your passion and commitment. Once you decide to make this challenge or competition, you must commit yourself to make a good result. It means you must win your competitor. That is the core meaning of this tactic to convince you to procrastinate less.
Conclusion
Those are four simple ways to cope with procrastination. It is focused on you, yourself, your personality, and your personal way of thinking to struggle with procrastination. In conclusion, it needs you to try very hard. It needs your passion, commitment, and persistence to take a period of time to change your habits. It is hard at the beginning that why you need to adapt and motivate yourself until you can change to be active rather than ostentation or procrastination. I hope it will be a good sharing for everyone and learning of my experiences of coping with this procrastination.
